Captain's Log Day 5

The pressure is beginning to mount. I don't feel behind schedule by any means, but I certainly don't feel comfortable saying that I feel like we're ahead. All of our sub-systems exist at this point. The task of connecting them into a core gameplay loop is in the works, but not quite complete. That's a day six task that I feel comfortable saying is doable, though I won't deny the subtle anxiety growing. We still have a couple of things we'd like to implement that'll just be gravy once the core loop is done, but I foresee at least one sleepless, or near sleepless, night.

I said earlier that we were trying to avoid putting off polish like the last jam, and I feel like we've been doing an exceptional job with that. We've added sound incrementally when it wouldn't slow down the programming momentum, and art and atmospheric lighting is being added at a steady pace each day as well. It definitely won't feel like as much of a shock going from Day 5 to Day 7 as it did in the previous jam.

Day 6 is completing the core loop and adding the final bit of music to have our various assets all lined up. We feel good. Everything feels promising and hopeful.

Once again, on behalf of the team, we appreciate you giving our project some time and attention, and we look forward to your feedback. If you're just now joining us on this journey, I highly recommend looking at our various builds just to see and celebrate the growth with us. We feel really good about this one.

Signing off from Day 5,

The Crew
